History

Founded in 1976, Tenco Machinery (CDN) Ltd. is a company specialized in manufacturing snow and ice removal equipment. More specifically, it offers a wide variety of equipment for road and airport runway maintenance, mainly snowblowers, sweepers, equipment for trucks and loaders as well as attachments. Owing to its experience of more than 30 years and continuous growth, Tenco Machinery (CDN) Ltd. is the leader in its field of expertise.

Due to the company’s extensive knowledge in the field of snow and ice removal on winter roads and its commitment to offer quality products, that are both innovative and high tech, Tenco Machinery (CDN) Ltd. has been able to set up a reliable and dependable distribution network.


Chronology

1976 Tenco Machinery (CDN) Ltd. is founded in à St-Valérien-de-Milton by ten shareholders, including the current President, Pierre Métras. Marketing of the one-way TC-96 plow. The original manufacturing jig is still in use today due to the popularity of this one-way plow.
1984 Tenco produces its first 12M dump body/spreader.
1987 A net increase in sales results in the expansion of the main building.
1993 Tenco USA Inc. is founded. In addition to selling parts directly to Western New York, the American division starts to manufacture several spare parts. Tenco USA Inc. quickly becomes a major operations center for the sale and distribution of spare parts and equipment, thus providing support to Tenco product distributors in the Mid-West and Western United States.
1994 Tenco starts to manufacture snowblowers. Three new models are developed: TC172, TC202, and TC272.
1997 Tenco Machinery (CDN) Ltd. becomes the principal shareholder of Plamondon Camquip, a distributor of snow and ice removal equipment for road maintenance as well as spare and wear parts for various equipment brands and starts to manufacture watering handles.
1999 Tenco acquires the SMI product line of self-propelled snowblowers and airport runway sweepers.
2000 A new 34,000 square foot building is added to Tenco’s manufacturing facilities in St-Valérien-de-Milton.
2003 Tenco acquires Vohl’s snow removal equipment division. Tenco starts selling the renowned DV-400 loader-mount snowblower, an upscale model in loader-mount snowblowers.
2005 Pursuant to an agreement with Bucher, Tenco is authorized to distribute Rolba high-quality self-propelling snowblowers as well as Schörling runway sweepers in North and South America.
2006 Distribution of Contant loader-mount ribbon snow blowers.
2008 Distribution of Belos vehicles and T.W.O. traction metering equipment.
